Job Description

Facebook is seeking a summer intern candidate to join the Design, Engineering, and Construction organization. The candidate should have a desire to work in a fast-paced design, engineering, and construction environment and willing to work in a number of different capacities including: -Mechanical and Electrical Distribution System and Equipment R&D -Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and/or Controls Engineering and Architectural Design -Infrastructure Construction Management -Estimating -Financial Forecasting and Controls -Scheduling -Quality -Safety -Execution Management -Telecommunications Design and Installation The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and comfortable working with internal and external partners.

Design, Engineering, and Construction Intern Responsibilities

* Work with existing staff on the team they are assigned to in the fulfillment of their core responsibilities. The responsibilities will differ based upon the assigned team.

* Work on a Capstone project for their assignment that they will present to the Intern Steering Committee at the end of their summer internship.

Minimum Qualifications

* Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors or Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction/Project management.

* Experience with process improvement.

* Experience researching questions and proposing solutions to problems.

* Experience in SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications

* Basic knowledge of the data center industry.

* Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and high voltage transmission.

* Knowledge of structured cabling.

* Knowledge of complex HVAC systems.

* Knowledge of general design and construction industry practices and processes.

* Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op.
