Facebook designs, develops, and builds all its own AR/VR and Portal HW products. The Strategic Sourcing team is responsible for managing spend covering all raw materials, from individual components on a PCB, to the final consumer end product. The team owns the commercial growth strategy and business relationships with all suppliers and manufacturers. The sourcing team moves fast and leverages key partnerships to drive technical innovation, high quality standards and cost-savings via a customized supply chain. Facebook is seeking an experienced Technical Sourcing Manager that creates disruptive value by influencing the product definitions, designs, and specifications for our organization, and manufacturing of our AR/VR and Portal hardware. As the sourcing teams memory technology expert, you will be responsible for technical sourcing across our ecosystem, including the commercial, operational and technical performance of our technology and supplier base.
Technical Sourcing Manager, Memory Responsibilities
* Partner with sourcing managers and device engineering team to support and influence new technology exploration, create Internal Technology Roadmaps that align with External Product Roadmaps, and secure cross-functional alignment.
* Support and influence Silicon engineering team in new memory technology and architecture scoping efforts acting as lead engineering liaison between internal teams and memory partners.
* In conjunction with sourcing manager, own Supplier Plan of Record (SPOR) from Discovery through End-of-Life while driving and maintaining strong alignment between cross-functional stakeholders.
* Perform Value Engineering including second source qualification, die evaluation/qualification, part selection optimization, and cost reduction initiatives at the material/manufacturing level.
* Establish, manage, and own supplier engineering relationships at the supplier executive level.
* Develop, manage, and improve standard and customized memory solutions, architectures, and technical sourcing strategies for each actively managed technology.
* Lead the Supplier QTR process focused on exceeding Facebook KPIs and continuous performance improvement.
* Influence supplier technology roadmaps and create internal disruptive value-add to ensure Facebooks system architecture and commercial requirements are met.
* Continually benchmark and monitor silicon industry trends to ensure best practices, industry knowledge, and materials are incorporated into the Facebook Reality Labs roadmap and supply chain.
* Drive Early Supplier Involvement initiatives to ensure our commodity suppliers are proactively providing input into new product architecture and future product roadmaps.
* Lead technical operations with vendors coordinating and guiding internal stakeholders engineering engagement with vendors.
Minimum Qualifications
* 10+ years work experience in engineering or technical sourcing disciplines specific to DRAM and/or NAND process technology.
* Experience with Memory design, development, and prototyping.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
* Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
* Experience and knowledge of Silicon requirement definition, characterization, and performance optimization.
* Experience with communicating to and influencing all levels of management.
* Experience operating in dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
