Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) Teams focus on delivering Facebook's vision through Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). As a Mechanical Engineer on the FRL AR hardware team, you will develop state-of-the-art mechanical designs, structures, mechanisms and sensor integration solutions that will create transformative experiences for users of Augmented Reality. You will become part of a team exploring new concepts through analytical modeling and fast iterative prototyping. You will work on cutting edge technologies with a diverse cross-functional team of engineers and scientists that pioneer mechanical, electrical, optical, materials, firmware, software and computer vision solutions. We value people who work well in teams, can brainstorm big ideas, are able to drive a concept into a prototype and can envision how that prototype could transition into a high-volume consumer product. We are excited to offer a new career development program to grow our FRL Hardware team. We are seeking engineers, who are military veterans at all levels to work with a world-class group of researchers and engineers. You will support Product Engineering team members in developing and implementing custom product designs to drive our industry leading virtual and augmented reality systems. Military spouses may also apply. This is a 12-month program with the FRL AR Hardware Product Engineering Team. Once the program concludes, participants may apply and interview for open full-time employment opportunities within the greater team.
