The Audio Research team is focused on harnessing the power of AR and VR to make virtual sounds indistinguishable from reality and give audio superpowers to billions of people, forever transforming the way we work, play, and connect. In this role, you will join a team of software engineers and collaborate with pioneers in research, electrical engineering, firmware engineering, and user experience design. You will learn constantly, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR problem solving. Audio Research Software Engineer Responsibilities

* Design, develop, integrate, optimize and debug real-time AR and VR audio software for advanced prototypes and user experiences

* Build tools, platforms, infrastructure and documentation that enable more efficient and effective research

* Build a community of researchers and other team members by sharing software engineering best practices, tips and techniques

* Collaborate in a team environment across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, making the architectural trade-offs required to rapidly deliver software solutions

Minimum Qualifications

* BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience

* 5+ years of professional programming experience in building real-time, performance sensitive systems

* Demonstrated proficiency in C++, algorithm design, low level computer architecture, software design, and analyzing computational complexity

Preferred Qualifications

* Established track record of creating software for real-time environments such as video games, embedded systems, or robotics

* Experience shipping one or more products on large code bases that span a range of platforms and tools

* Good understanding of audio pipelines and digital signal processing

* Experience working in AR/VR

* Experience using game engines such as Unity or Unreal

* Experience with Max/MSP, MATLAB, Audio Weaver, or similar platforms

* Proficiency in C or Python

* Demonstrated experience working within interdisciplinary teams
