About the role:
Responsible for portfolio planning for clinical trials. Works collaboratively with Functional Leaders to build budgets and resource plans to support Clinical studies throughout the project life cycle. Consults with business leads to develop and implement achievable franchise plans.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Assist with the reporting and analysis of long-range strategic plans and ad hoc projects. These duties include development of models and contributions to presentations for senior management.
* Work collaboratively with Finance to drive the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Quarterly Financial Forecasts to support business requirements and timeline.
* Implement and oversee budget modeling tools used to determine costs and resource requirements for clinical trials.
* Baseline current clinical study costs to identify internal process improvement and/or outsourcing impact.
* Review and analyze the impact of recommended financial value improvement processes (VIPs).
* Create process, metrics, and best practices for improved portfolio management and planning.
* Facilitate the use of data and analytics to build consensus and drive strategic decisions.
* Monthly reporting of clinical study metrics, and continued refinement and improvement of metrics for internal use and Product Life Cycle Process (PLCP).
* Further implementation of the Project Portfolio Management System (PPMS) system, becoming a subject matter expert on the tool functionality.
* Headcount reporting and analysis.
* Support responses to requests for analysis and projections of spending and returns in conjunction with Corporate and Division finance and Portfolio Management.
What were looking for in you:
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelors degree and 3+ years of Clinical Research experience.
* 2+ years experience with Clinical operational/budgeting/metrics development, and continued improvement of metrics for internal use.
* Interpersonal skills including developing relationships at all levels in an organization, in multiple geographies, and indirectly influencing business objectives.
* Ability to effectively communicate up, down, across the organization.
* Experience in diagnosing business problems and building and executing multi-faceted, long-term, strategic plans based on business challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
* Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information / ideas / strategies into a cohesive and succinct business plan.
* BS or BA degree in Business, Finance or Strategy a plus.
* Ability to multi-task: Support several studies and/or personnel simultaneously, work in a very fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Portfolio analysis tools a plus.
