Architecture and Data is the enterprise wide architecture and data services group at BNY Mellon. Our mission is to develop and articulate the holistic target state enterprise architecture and partner with various business lines and shared services to execute on a prioritized roadmap. The team formulates and executes on our data strategy to reduce complexity and eliminate redundancies in our data.

Masters Data Technology team with Architecture and Data Science Division is at the forefront of building BNY Strategic Reference Data Platforms Initial Focus on the initiative is to stand up Client, Account, Product, Reference and Security Master.

The Masters Technology team is looking for a motivated Full Stack (Java) Developer with hands on experience in building enterprise wide technology solutions. Candidate is expected to be operating under the guidance of Tech Delivery Manager however is expected to be self-starter and operate with an ownership mentality. Candidate will be individual contributor working part of the Overall Technology Delivery team. He/ She is expected to mentor summer interns and junior developers and grow into Senior Roles over next few years. Candidate must be Agile Practitioner.

Consults with internal business groups to provide highly advanced application software development services or technical support. Must have thorough and demonstrative knowledge on or both the user-side frontend of a website, as well as the backend, server-side that powers the user-side. Additional requirements include intermediate understanding of security principles, relational databases and architecture design principles. Consults to IT and business managers on issues, questions and problems related to his/her area of expertise. Accountable for resolving highly complex problems that have impact on the corporation's ability to conduct business. Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code. Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites. Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to satisfy requirements and solutions. Maintain software functionality and currency (technical debt and gain). Actively participate in code reviews. Integrate software components into a fully functional software system. Apply security and privacy principles. Uses in-depth knowledge of various technologies to establish and influence implementation of broad-based technology strategy for large IT Divisions. Active learning engagement. Complete all required mandatory training / policy awareness curricula on time. Use learning tools such as Pluralsight to complete both recommended and aspirational targets set in personal development plans. Stays abreast of emerging technologies . Educates business leaders and prepares presentations for the business on IT strategies. Advocates for innovative, creative technology solutions. Mentors junior level engineers Expertise in using a specific application development toolkit and proficiency of front end and backend development coding languages such as C, Java, HTML, NodeJS, CSS, JSON, Angular, JavaScript. Must also have proficiency in application frameworks and containerization. Communications and organization skills; team work skills ; possess strong interpersonal skills to support mentoring Contributes to the achievement of Application Development objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree is beneficial 14+ years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. Job holder must have understanding interdependencies and business impact of future IT plans. S/he must have extensive experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and prior consulting experience with structured methodologies. Extensive experience with developing and supporting mainframe applications required. Job holder must have broad experience with multi-platform development tools and toolkits.

* Hands on Java Technologist with Reference Data Background

* Extensive experience in Spring Batch Framework, Spark, Kafka Streaming Solutions

* Reference Data Domain Knowledge preferred

* Ability to synthesize business, functional requirements and design solution

* Design and Implement Rest APIs

* Prior experience in Sprint Boot (micro services) framework.

* Prior Experience in working across regions and cross functional teams

* Partner with QA/Ops/Client teams in supporting QA/UAT initiatives

* Experience with source control systems such as GIT, and Team Foundation Server (TFS).

* Knowledge in various branching/merging methodologies and release procedures.
* Experience with continuous integration build engines, such as Jenkins, Cruise Control, etc.
* Experience with IT automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc. Experience with container technology such as Docker, and CoreOS RKT (Rocket)
* Exposure to Agile development processes and tools such as Confluence, JIRA, and Kanban.
* Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Bash, batch, etc.) and familiarity with Windows, Linux (RHEL preferred) and Unix.
* Experience with databases both relational (Oracle, MSSQL) and non-relational (NoSQL, HBase)
* Experience in release engineering, configuration management, software development or related discipline.
