Be an integral part of the Technology Strategy and Operating Model Transformation group at BNY Mellon and help build the future of technology in the firm. TSOMT is spearheading the adoption of Agile, DevOps, and business-aligned product delivery, and instituting long-term, transformative changes, while evolving Technologys multi-year Operating Model and the Technology Strategy Master Plan. We are driving a comprehensive People and Workforce Strategy which identifies and invests in the skills that will create a world class Technology organization and a highly engaged workforce, with a focus on promoting continuous learning, development, listening, and recognition. Critically, we are surfacing and prioritizing the best strategic change investment opportunities to improve efficiency, increase productivity, and shift spending to deliver a sustainable advantage through investment in differentiating activities. To enable growth at scale, we are delivering superior Technical Documentation for the changes to our strategy, operating model, and tools, to drive the adoption of shared services, enterprise frameworks, and components, and to support end-users and customer.

Role Overview:

As a Data Scientist on the Global Technology People Strategy team, you will elevate our strategy for our most important asset our people. You will take our vision for 2021 and create the roadmap and help execute the people element for two of Technologys greatest priorities - Creating an Agile Firm and Transforming the Firm's Operating Model. Your main responsibility will be to drive cohesion and continuity of execution and organizational effectiveness across all of Technology in a consistent and appropriate manner based on data and data visualizations.

Delivery expectations include:

* Define, develop, maintain, and deliver strategic data science products that demonstrate the value and effectiveness of the organization
t
* Assume responsibility for the leadership and direction of the projects to develop analytic products that will allow decisions to be based on data
t
* Develop and communicate findings, approaches, and insights from data products
t
* Extract business insights to guide direction of learning activities and drive organizational efficiencies, effectiveness, and outcomes

Job Responsibilities:

* Strategy Effectiveness develop and communicate insights leveraging the scientific method
t
* Strategic Change partner with senior executives to define the strategy, business initiatives, and organizational changes required to gain leadership alignment
t
* Business Insights lead and partner with others to deliver meaningful insights in complex business situations
t
* Organizational Strategy partner with senior executives to understand organizational perspectives and recommend best-fit methods
t
* Story Telling create and deliver compelling stories through data and data visualizations

t
* Research & Thought Leadership Conduct studies to provide additional inputs to make informed decisions about organizational and functional effectiveness with data decisioning
t
* Strategic Partnerships develop consultative partnerships with internal teams to understand their strategic objectives, key performance indicators, and reporting requirements

Qualifications

t
* Bachelors degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
t
* Strong analytical skills, ability to think strategically and rapidly analyze, interpret, and integrate data information from multiple sources into clear conclusions and recommendations
t
* Demostrable experience in research and the use of data and data visualizations to tell compelling stories
t
* Ability to take ambiguous topics and translate into action-suggesting data models
t
* Experience in data curation; data acquisition, cleaning and management; data interpretation and analysis; and the presentation and communication of reproducible results in an engaging manner
t
* Strong team player with outstanding communication, organization, and collaboration skills
t
* Working knowledge of modern statistics, scripting, and programming languages
t
* Knowledge of data visualization tools, ideally PowerBI
t
* Comfort with quickly changing priorities, in a fast-paced development environment
