ROLE SUMMARY
The purpose of the Project Engineer role is to manage the complete lifecycle of assigned capital projects at the Pfizer Rocky Mount site. This will include preparing project scopes, budgets and schedules; specification, purchase, installation and qualification of production, facility and automation equipment and systems. Provide technical support to manufacturing operations and other business units as required. Act as an equipment/systems subject matter expert.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
* The Project Engineer will have overall project management responsibility for technical oversight and implementation of capital projects in a large scale sterile injectable manufacturing facility. This position will manage capital projects from the conceptual phase through qualification and turnover. This includes: developing project scopes, budgets/estimates, schedules, resources, equipment specification and procurement, and managing contract engineering and construction personnel. The position will support the manufacturing, facility and utility operations in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, and will act as a technical subject matter expert on pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and systems. The position will also identify and achieve cost reduction goals through the implementation of innovation and new technologies. The position will support the development of long range plans for site infrastructure, compliance, modernization and manufacturing efficiencies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelors degree required in an Engineering Field (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical preferred)
* Requires minimum 2 years of industrial engineering experience
* This position requires a high level of resourcefulness as well as the ability to perceive and resolve problems, make difficult decisions, and to find a way to accomplish goals.
* Must have knowledge of production equipment design and operation, facilities and utilities as well as plc and equipment controls desirable.
* Must demonstrate the ability to manage assigned funding according to project commitments.
* Must be capable of documenting and maintaining records, drawings and certification requirements.
* Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Use computer terminal 2 hours per shift, respond to visual warning indicators, respond to audible warning indicators, respond to color or special visual indicators, use powered material handling equipment, work around moving equipment, wear specialized protective clothing, wear PPE (safety shoes/glasses, etc.) work in hot or cold environment, work in hearing conservation area, work with potent drug powders.
