SENIOR ANALYST, TAX OPERATIONS sought by NC Transaction, Inc. dba News Corporation in New York, New York.
Job Duties:
Prepare and file sales/use, and gross receipts tax returns; research and respond to notices issued by state and local taxing jurisdictions; assist in managing state and local tax audits, including gathering data and preparing supporting schedules in response to information document requests; gather and validate information for multi-state apportionment; prepare state income tax estimated payments and extensions; process payments and organize supporting documentation; work on a variety of SALT issues; reconcile balance sheets accounts; work with outside service providers and special projects such as amended returns (RARs); support the SALT Senior Director in other projects and duties as required/assigned; support Income Tax provision through preparation of cash tax schedules, payable, deferred state provision, SOX documentation; HQ tax department budget, invoicing, AP inquiries and other misc.; support International Tax Senior Director in the Companys international tax operations, including tax compliance, and tax accounting in accordance with ASC 740 and reviewing US International tax return forms 5471, 8858 and 8865 for assigned foreign entities; prepare calculations for provision of Non-US subsidiaries for US inclusions and Subpart F recapture accounts; prepare transactions summary, audits and Non-US filings in a quarterly basis; file Singapore tax returns (GST, CIT, WHT).
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in accounting or a related field, plus two (2) years of experience in the position offered or a related occupation.
Alternatively, the employer will accept an applicant with three (3) years of experience in the position offered or related occupation.
Special Requirements:
Experience in and demonstrated knowledge of corporate tax in the media or information services industry; demonstrated knowledge of State and Local Tax laws; experience in project management; experience with New York State Use tax filing and other State Indirect Tax filings (e.g. OH CAT, etc.); experience with supporting on State Income tax audits; experience with reviewing US International tax returns forms 5471, 8858, 8865; experience with preparation of SOX documentation for tax provision; experience with tax department budget preparation, analysis and reporting; experience with processing tax payments, invoicing and handling different vendor and AP inquiries; experience with Corptax software; experience with Microsoft Suite; experience with Singapore tax online filings; and experience with Abandoned and Unclaimed Property filings.
