Director, Product Strategy, Products & Engineering (P&E)

Overview
The mission of the Products & Engineering (P&E) Strategy Team is to support the Chief Product Officer (CPO) in strategy development and execution across Mastercards P&E business lines.

Position reports to the SVP of P&E Product Strategy. Location is either New York or London.

Job Description
The Director of P&E Product Strategy will play a key role in the development of business-unit and product-level strategies across all P&E areas of focus. The individual will both support and lead projects or major work streams, applying strategic and analytical rigor to advance thinking and deeper insights. He/she will also work with P&Es business leaders to support execution of strategic initiatives and exciting innovation agendas.

Major Responsibilities
Primarily support or secondarily lead projects / major work streams related to P&Es strategies, priorities, and strategic initiatives
Proactively engage across functions and markets to research and solve business problems and make actionable recommendations on a wide range of issues
Gather relevant data and drive analyses to support development of innovative solutions/product strategies to a diverse range of complex market/industry/competition challenges
Maintain business landscape knowledge, to provide solid foundational context for projects
Support businesses in exploring opportunities for MA to make investments or creatively partner with others (e.g., fintechs) to accelerate commercial or broader agenda
Produce articulate and well-informed, data-driven presentations for P&E senior leadership and C-suite

Skills/Experience Required
Demonstrated experience in strategy/management consulting with exposure to financial services/payments preferred
Ability to support and advance complex cross-enterprise projects with multiple stakeholders in time-sensitive and dynamic environments
Superior research, analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to challenge established views and assumptions at all levels
Ability to facilitate/lead discussion and debate
Team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible
Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior management
Strong interpersonal and communication skills - excellent presentation and writing skills
Highly developed multi-cultural sensitivity
MBA or relevant graduate degree from top-tier institution or similar academic experience preferred
Global or multi-national business experience preferred
