Job Summary:
The Developer contributes to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications by providing technical or business knowledge to the team. Under the guidance of a Senior Developer or Team Lead, collaborates with Business Analysts, key stakeholders, and other IT professionals to define technical specifications (based on business requirements) and system interfaces to develop and present business solutions. Software knowledge base will vary based on the applications being built.
Essential Functions:
* All aspects of handling Client files sent to State National on a daily basis.
* Analyze and Diagnose issues with Loans Files sent from Clients Daily.
* Assist is submission of Account Loan Files to Operations Daily.
* Design and implement application system changes and enhancements to the Loan File Application (ETL).
* Perform multiple, concurrent small A/M projects; help set priorities; report status currently these production and test environments operate in a HP-UX Informix/Cobol and Linux environment.
* Communicate with clients on questions, clarification, issues, follow up and resolution of issues.
* Set up new clients in the test and live systems.
* Handle insurance conversion files for new accounts
* Complete application system changes for new and existing clients in third party data conversion software.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Requires knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills
* Builds knowledge of the organization, processes and customers
* Solves a range of straightforward problems
* Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures
* Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Education/Experience:
* College degree preferred, high school diploma required.
* At least 4 years in QA and/or programming
* Programming languages Cobol, Informix ISQL/4GL a plus
* Operating systems and scripting - vi, HPUX/UNIX, Shell scripting, Linux
* Knowledge of SQL and database/file structures
