Job Description
LKQ Corporation is a leading supplier of salvage and aftermarket automotive parts and is looking for a valued member to add to our Northfield, MN salvage yard. This position will be cross trained but be responsible over the wash bay where you will make sure the parts are cleaned if necessary, bound, and bagged to shuttle out. You will also help the Inventory department by draining automotive fluids from vehicles coming in to be dismantled.
Essential Job Duties:
* Clean engines, transmissions, engine cradles, etc in the wash bay.
* Band and bag them and put them on a skid to move to warehouse staging. Use our drain system to drain all fluids from vehicles such as gas and antifreeze.
* Follow specific work instructions and best practices to safely and accurately complete daily work assignments
* Support all operational processes and procedures to ensure value to the customer and compliance with all LKQ policies, customer requirements and federal/state/local regulations
* Communicate problems, concerns and ideas to management.
* Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
* Perform forklift duties
* Drain and recover all automotive fluids from incoming vehicles before they are dismantled
Requirements
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED equivalent required. Knowledge of and ability to operate a forklift and meet medium level physical exertion requirements, including lifting to 50 pounds frequently. Ability to follow oral and/or written instruction.
You must also work well as part of a team. We are looking for hard working, positive minded people!
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, as well as an office environment. The employee will be exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat as the building has many dock doors opening continuously. The employee will be exposed to strong smells from the fluid and noise level in the work environment is moderately loud. Should not have any lifting restrictions.

• On December 22, 2015, LKQ announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the holding company of Rhiag-Inter Auto Parts Italia
• S.p.A (“Rhiag”), a leading pan-European business-to-business distributor of aftermarket spare parts for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Rhiag has operations in Italy, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland and Spain. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2016 and is subject to customary closing conditions and necessary regulatory approvals.
