Job Description
Haywood Regional Medical Center
Greets visitors and communicates with patients and providers.
Enters and updates patient demographics and insurance information.
Places, answers, and directs phone calls and distributes messages.
Organizes, coordinates, and schedules meetings and appointments.
Keeps office area neat and tidy and monitors and orders office supplies.
Handles information requests, including reviewing files and records, answering inquiries, and responding to incoming work requests.
Coordinates work flow and complies records of office activities.
Surgery Scheduler:Schedules all surgical procedures and radiologic procedures ordered by physicians. Completes required documents: order, consent, insurance/authorization, coding for procedures and diagnosis codes, medical chart for hospital. Sets up pre-op appointment and meets with patient to complete all required paperwork.
Scribe:Accompanies physician in exam room to transcribe patient history and physical exam. Accurately documents the physician's encounter with the patient and others present. Appropriately documents and lists all symptoms and diagnoses. Maintains accurate patient information.
Job Requirements
Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma preferred
Minimum Work ExperienceMedical front office experience preferred.Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Our Health Support Center (HSC), in Brentwood, Tennessee, has subject matter expertise in every area of healthcare operations and provider services. The HSC is organized to bring resources to bear across the continuum of care, from before a patient accesses healthcare services to after they are sent home, while keeping quality and compliance at the center.
On a daily basis, our group leaders and subject matter experts are working with our local markets to help develop and implement the right strategies that ensure healthcare thrives in their communities.
