Job Summary

Performs structured evaluations and develops a treatment plan in conjunction with primary care counselor using therapeutic, recreational, and activities.

Essential Functions

Conducts assessment and establishes recreational therapy treatment goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of patients.

Evaluates each patients progress and the effectiveness of recreational therapy interventions.

Coordinates therapeutic recreation activities for both large and small groups to observe patient response and encourage socialization.

Provides patient and patients family with information regarding leisure life styles and creates an awareness of recreational resources in their community.

Review and comply with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant Company and Division policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education

Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree preferred

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), Perioperative Nurse (CNOR), Handle with Care.
