Job Description:
Field Technician providing technical support for the installation, grooming, operation, maintenance, and modification of complex electronic systems of various types with installations on land and sea-based platforms. Systems include Radar, RF Instrumentation, Satellite Communication, Data Recording, System Interfaces and Software Operating Systems.
Occasionally requires near and long-distance travel (up to 30% as required) in order to provide contracted services on a varying schedule. Must be able to support onboard surface and subsurface vessels at sea as required, and to climb and work on elevated platforms. Requires supporting various tasking at the home location when not on travel, to include inventory control, production builds, repairs, systems grooming, on-the-job training, mentoring others, maintaining log books, filing reports, and other tasking as assigned.
Occasional weekend work for customer support.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of five years of electronics / technical experience in test and operations positions
* Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience
* Secret Clearance required
Preferred Additional Skills:
* Experience in SSBN and/or SWS Flight Test operations.
* Use of RF/satellite communications/data recording systems
* Networking skills (Cisco Certification desired)
* Ability to properly use analog and digital test equipment to troubleshoot, test and/or validate complex electronic systems
* Electronic troubleshooting and repair with quality assurance workmanship skills and
* IPC-610/620 and J-STD certifications preferred
* Ability to operate independently with little to no supervision
* Strong ability to communicate both written and verbally
* Strong Microsoft Office skills
* Ability to follow documented procedures
