(Duties may include, but are not limited to the following activities. Some duties may be optional on an individual basis. If there is a question about responsibilities or authorities, resolve the issue with the Maintenance / Facilities Manager. The Industrial electrician will be expected to perform his/her job with minimal supervision.)
* Follow all plant safety rules and work in a safe manner.
* 5-7 years of direct electrical/controls and mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Troubleshoot drives, i.e. AC, DC and servos, read electrical block diagrams and schematics as well as PLC ladder logic to include basic electrical troubleshooting of all electrical components.
* The Industrial electrician will report to the maintenance manager for project assignments and to report on daily activity progress and responsibilities.
* The controls technician will ensure that equipment is programmed to International Paper build specifications using standard techniques and approach.
* The controls technician will utilize International Paper drawing standards and symbol libraries unless otherwise specified.
* Review electrical, hydraulic and controls drawings submitted to International Paper by OEMs for compliance to equipment standards.
* Integrate, develop, and trouble-shoot programs for a number of different machine controllers, servo systems, motion controllers, robotics, HMIs and related components in a timely and efficient manner, using International Paper standard techniques and approach.
* Develop a machine bill of materials and coordinate the procurement of these materials with the purchasing department and/or the MPS Coordinator, using International Paper standard procedure and process.
* Coordinate with maintenance technicians on a timely basis to ensure that all drawings, manuals, sequence of operation, PLC and HMI programs, etc., are current and correct. The controls technician will be responsible for the maintenance / upkeep of the back up program files based in the Maintenance public drive files.
* Attend certain technical training classes, as deemed necessary by the maintenance / facilities manager, and pass this knowledge along to maintenance technicians.
* Troubleshoot, repair, modify and rebuild mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components.
* Follow preventative and predictive maintenance plans.
