Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Software Developer on the Cloud Pak team, you will be working as part of a full-stack team developing the next generation of AI-infused infrastructure management features used in our premier hybrid cloud management product. Working in an agile environment, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary squad working on the core management framework within the large global development product group. Your work will involve close collaboration with Architects, DevOps Engineers and Offering Managers across our global organization.

Responsibilities Include

* Work as part of a development squad to deliver quality software product for enterprise IT management

* Follow Agile development methodologies/best practices to produce quality code and documentation deliverables

* Participate and present at regular playbacks to the broader team, showing the output of the squad

* Contribute to and implement functional specs/designs to feed into a larger system architecture

* Deliver customer value through innovative solutions that address customer business problems as well as working with the Customer Support team to help resolve issues that customers encounter

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

* 5+ years experience developing software products in the enterprise IT domain, specifically dealing with infrastructure management

* 5+ years experience in open source development, having directly to contributed to a leading open source project and having attained status in a well-known community

* Deep expertise in traditional VM based infrastructure (VMware, KVM, Open Stack), in containerized infrastructure (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker), and in a wide variety of cloud providers (Amazon, Google, Microsoft, IBM)

* Expertise in Ruby on Rails development in large scale projects

* Expertise in SQL, preferably PostgreSQL

* Knowledge of unit testing frameworks, preferably RSpec

* Knowledge of distributed version control systems, preferably Git

* Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with remote office locations

* Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes
