Huntsmans Polyurethanes Division is currently looking for a dynamic individual as an Account Manager for our Consumer Business Team.

This is the role for a hunter! The Account Manager will be responsible for developing and executing objectives, strategies, and tactics to achieve forecasted revenue, growth, and profitability at specific accounts within the Consumer business segment. The Account Manager will manage the buying process at assigned accounts with the goal of maintaining and developing new business opportunities.

Nature of the Position

Incumbents will develop annual written account objectives and strategies which correspond with the overall strategic objectives of the Business. Incumbents are responsible for providing the direct management and leadership required to achieve annual strategic account objectives. In executing their duties, the incumbents will develop broad horizontal and vertical customer contacts throughout each account and identify corresponding job responsibilities and decision making ability. They will develop a thorough understanding of the customer(s) products, applications, and markets to position Huntsman Polyurethanes as the preferred supplier for existing and new business.

What will be expected from you?

* Commensurate with the overall business strategies, develop written annual account strategies to maintain existing business and obtain new business.
* Execute approved account strategy and provide leadership/management for successful implementation at assigned accounts. Account management will include assisting customers with pursuing new opportunities within specific markets and providing adequate training on HPU products.
* Develop a thorough understanding of the buying process, an understanding of how the account works and how things get done at assigned accounts. Ensure all contracts are in keeping with strategic plan and endorsed by legal. Credit management duties included.
* Develop and implement product pricing strategy at each account to maximize product and customer profitability. Pricing strategy should be consistent with business goals.
* Develop sales forecasts and budgets per account to accurately set forth the optimum volume of sales of forecasted products. Ensure all forecasts are updated on a monthly basis to maintain sales forecast accuracy using the OMP tool .
* Identify and pursue new opportunities through existing accounts as well as new leads generated through product sampling and/or marketing.
* Establish and maintain customer contacts at all levels (engineering, R&D, sales, production and marketing) to maximize Huntsman Polyurethanes opportunities for new business.
* Provide direction and leadership to both technical and customer service personnel to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction at assigned accounts.
* Provide routine written communications to all support functions detailing competitive products/activities, progress vs account plans and/or specific customer information.
* Manage travel and entertainment expenses within budgeted limits.
* Participate in related trade or professional associations.
* Develop and maintain a high degree of product and application knowledge through formal and informal training plus independent study.
* Assist Marketing in developing overall industry strategies based on knowledge of customers, competitors, and markets in which they operate.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

* Position requires a bachelors degree, with a minimum of 5 years of Technical Sales in a business to business environment.
* Position requires strategic thinking, negotiation skills along with the ability to influence people, fulfill customer needs and promote the HPU sales of Huntsman Polyurethanes products.
* The incumbent is recognized by peers and customers as an expert in the specific business / segment or overall polyurethanes areas, and by his/her managers as having broad commercial and technical knowledge of the Consumer business/segment market.
* A good basic knowledge of chemistry is also preferred.
* Knowledge of product economics and timely use of selective marketing techniques are required.
* The incumbent will be required to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, including significant commercial arrangements such as contracts, partnering, etc. Customer presentations will also be prepared and presented by the incumbent as needed.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables), Word, and PowerPoint.
* Incumbent must be a self-starter with the ability to plan, organize, execute and follow-up work necessary to maintain effective relationships with customers.
* Position requires the ability to develop an annual account plan which includes sales forecasts per product and application for present and future targeted business. Responsible for resolving long and short-term strategic account issues which impact customer relationships and the sale of HPU products.
* Incumbent required to assist in determining technical service manpower allocations needed to support customer requirements and communicate same to the Technical Service Group.
* Incumbent is required to identify specific product needs or modifications to the Technical/Innovation Group to expand sales potential.
* The position requires of the incumbent up to 50% - 70% travel time.
