Description

Under close supervision, performs a variety of patrol, security, emergency response and customer service duties at assigned location.

* Greets and logs in all visitors and vendors at entrance gate
* Notifies appropriate personnel or department of arrival
* Directs visitors and vendors to destination
* Enforces company policies and procedures
* Performs frequent patrols of the property
* Walks, bicycles, or drives vehicle on irregularly scheduled rounds of property
* Observes conditions of equipment, grounds and facilities
* Picks up litter or debris as needed, or arranges clean-up with maintenance crews
* Reports damages or areas in need of repair to the Maintenance Supervisor
* Conducts surveillance of locations or areas in which vandalism or criminal activities have been noted
* Assists with and trained for emergency situations
* Collaborates with police officers in the prevention of crime
* Works with fire response units for fire suppression, and with medical emergency response units in the event of emergency situations, at the assigned location
* Provides basic emergency medical response (e.g. performs CPR, gives basic first aid) when needed
* Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

* Current CPR and first aid certifications, as required by specific site location
* Skilled in responding appropriately to emergency and conflict situations
* Knowledge of site rules, regulations, policies and procedures
* Knowledgeable of the site topography and locations of emergency equipment and access points
* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Preferred

* High School diploma or GED

Criteria/Conditions

* Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
* Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
* Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
* Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms
* Occasionally may be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the work day
* May be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation
* Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
* Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State Laws
