Job Description:
Position Overview:
Coverage of all Application packaging, discovery, and internal QA testing in a specialized and security-focused environment. A background in development of new solutions via bespoke scripting in PowerShell is mandatory: the Raytheon clients environment is extensively customized based on the needs of a defense contractor with extensive security protocols, and as such this position is emphatically not run-and-maintain. Requires self-motivated and autonomous scheduling of duties while adhering to strict contractual SLA deadlines, frequently while juggling multiple assignments. Broad-based grounding across a wide range of Microsoft solutions in the workstation/laptop (i.e. non-server) arena with concomitant proven abilities in diagnosis and troubleshooting. Process knowledge sufficient to serve as an authority in approving Packaging Requests for submitted PRD workflows. Carries out special projects on an as-needed basis, such as distribution point cleanup across the SCCM infrastructure. Communications skills are essential, as the role is heavily client-facing when dealing with Raytheon IT personnel, coordinators, requestors, and a variety of Subject Matter Experts.
Required technical skills:
* 5 years hands-on engineering, testing, and deploying customized scripting solutions in an environment with over 75,000 machines
* Intermediate to advanced engineering experience in authoring and testing custom solutions in PowerShell.
* 5-10 years general, broad-based IT experience supporting a contractor for the Department of Defense (or equivalently security-focused environment)
* Advanced knowledge of the technical underpinnings of the Application Model, as well as strong facility with legacy Packaging Model idioms when needed for legacy support or unusual software requests
* Ability to take on and self-schedule in parallel multiple work items without supervision
* Sufficient general knowledge of Windows 10 Enterprise edition to handle tickets escalated to final tier of support from RRC or LBS technicians (contractually required of all Desktop Engineering personnel)
* General knowledge of a Windows environment sufficient to undertake and excel at special projects on an as-needed basis
Preferred experience/skills:
* Guru-level knowledge of PowerShell and the Application Model
* Background in development in an Enterprise environment (especially in C)
* Detailed technical knowledge of the Windows OS, its underpinnings, and the foundations of the Common Language Runtimes infrastructure
* Broad-based experience in use of SCCM as a deployment mechanism
Degree requirements: Bachelors in IT or related field preferred.
