POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the supervision of Admission Clerks and workflow of the Admissions Department at the Medical Mall. Assists with staff admission duties when needed, answer questions and solves problems in the areas of registration, pre-registration, insurance verification and financial counseling. Maintains a welcoming atmosphere for patients by monitoring and ensuring minimum wait times. Monitors account creation and quality of data; complies with the organization's registration requirements. Excels in customer services skills and provides leadership to the department. Assists manager in problem solving and communicating changes within the department. Manages on-going department education. Assists manager in orientation and training of new employees. Assists in managing productivity and department reports. Complies with other job-related responsibilities that may be assigned by the manager and/or director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in hospital Admissions department
* Experience with medical billing preferred, either hospital or physician office
* Experience working with physician orders and order entry a plus
* Supervisory experience preferred
* Must have professional appearance, good communication skills, friendly personality and a positive attitude
* Must follow oral and written instructions and be able to maintain a pleasant personality under pressure
