Network Engineer, Mid

Key Role:

Apply engineering and architectural expertise, including performing in-depth and complex network troubleshooting and engineering involving all aspects of the network including core, distribution edge, and border routing. Report, isolate, investigate, and resolve network outages involving complex root-cause scenario investigation techniques. Interact and report architecture problems with lead engineers, determining future bandwidth needs, redundancy planning, and adopt infrastructure configurations according to vendor and industry best practices and standards to meet the business needs of the client. Provide support for implementing routing and switching protocols. This position is located in Washington, DC.

Basic Qualifications:

* 6+ years of experience in a professional work environment
* 5+ years of experience with planning, designing, and executing network hardware and software infrastructure
* Experience with configuring routing and switching protocols and related technologies, including STP, OSPF, BGP, HSRP, VPC, Multicast, and MPLS
* Experience with isolating and performing root-cause analysis to determine infrastructure design improvements and enhancements, software bugs and implementing necessary workarounds
* Experience with firewall and IPS security products
* Knowledge of SDN technologies to automate network provisioning and increase redundancy and improve resiliency
* Ability to apply architectural expertise to network diagrams, wiring, and cyber infrastructure documentation, processes, and procedures and suggesting improvements, as needed
* TS/SCI clearance
* BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

* Experience with documenting with tools such as Visio, AutoCAD, or LucidChart
* Experience with programming and scripting
* Ability to execute in-depth engineering network builds including the latest technological advancements
* Ability to work under pressure in a complex and changing technical environment while interfacing with senior engineers
* Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
* CCNP or CCNA Certification
