Cybersecurity Engineer, Mid
Key Role:
Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities using alternate or compensating controls, if necessary. Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot IA software issues in conjunction with other IA staff to ensure timely response actions to security incidents. Recognize potential security violations, take appropriate action to report the incident as required by regulation, and mitigate any adverse impact. Implement applicable patches, including IA vulnerability alerts (IAVA), IA vulnerability bulletins (IAVB), and technical advisories (TA) for assigned operating system(s). Work under technical supervision and perform information assurance activities in data center environments. Assist with the installation, daily operation, and maintenance of IA systems, including technical support, troubleshooting, and system testing. This position is located in Washington, DC.
Basic Qualifications:
-3+ years of experience with cybersecurity and supporting complex programs or systems
-Experience with performing cyber risk assessments or cyber authorization support for DoD programs executing the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
-Experience with vulnerability assessment and scanning tools, including Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and assessing system compliance for security controls
-TS/SCI clearance required
-BA or BS degree
-CISSP Certification
Additional Qualifications:
-Possession of excellent customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
-Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
-MA or MS degree
