Job Overview
Booking Holdings is responsible for effective finance support for business management; strong governance and control in the organization; and maintaining a world-class finance organization in terms of execution and efficiency. As part of our Global Business Services team we are building a leadership team that will focus largely on establishing Global Process Ownership (R2R, P2P, O2C) and transformation roles. To support this initiative, we are hiring for a Global Process Owner, Record to Report within the Global Business Services organization. This role can be US remote or Amsterdam, NL based.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Global Process Owner, Record-to-Report, will report to the VP GBS at Booking Holdings and is responsible for the end to end Record-to-Report business process.
This role serves as the custodian of the overall Record-to-Report (R2R) process and is responsible for the process design at a global level. In conjunction with the newly formed Global Business Services organization and Finance Transformation teams, this role assesses and articulates business requirements, analyzes design options, and seeks out and assesses process simplification opportunities.
The Global Process Owner (GPO) is responsible for the governance and proactive development and enhancement of their end-to-end process across the enterprise. The GPO must collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient process operations and identification and leverage of cross-process synergies. The GPO also monitors process performance and prioritizes and drives process-related investment decisions. Additionally, the GPO is accountable for ensuring process compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures.
The GPO Record-to-Report will be responsible for:
* Proving global leadership, direction and oversight for our ERP systems (SAP & Oracle) implementation in conjunction with implementation teams, master data management, and workstream leaders as part of our overall transformation program
* Working closely with Brand controllers to align strategy and requirements to the strategic roadmap for our ERP implementation and master data management strategy
* Lead requirements gathering for accounting functions within the transformation initiative such as deployment of code block and standardization of reporting and analytics
* Define a strategic end-state that not only significantly improves the speed of the current Close process, but also enhances control and governance mechanism, increases transparency and reliability of data, is nimble enough to timely react to changes in the regulatory standards, is efficient and effective in its use of resources across locations and is well supported by a technology platform (best in class)
* Lead the multi-year transformation effort to transform regional and brand focused closing and accounting processes into a best in class global process
* Responsible and accountable for end to end General ledger/Consolidations/Intercompany process design of the month end close processes
* Support process design for the intercompany processes end to end including understanding the transfer pricing arrangements within each subsidiary and the respective accounting flows
* Responsible for business process transformations and has ownership for the delivery of key record to report programs that have been identified by the management team (on-going and future projects) across multiple global entities including movement towards consistency and continuous closing
* Providing SME knowledge for Record-to-Report process, including current ways of working across brands, business process management, systems, and objectives
* Participating in governance management boards to provide input on items such as process scope and service delivery and assist in resolving operational issues
* Building business cases to quantify the cost and value of process opportunities and advocate for funding as necessary
* Developing prioritization of process related improvements and opportunities
* Collaborating with the business, corporate, and Enterprise Business Services to ensure resources are properly trained on processes, policies, and systems
The Ideal Candidate will have experience:
* Translating strategy into operational goals, objectives, and an Record-to-Report process roadmap
* Leading the execution of a global strategy for an end-to-end Record-to-Report process including associated policies and technologies
* Implementing new systems supporting General Ledger, Chart of Accounts, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, etc.
* Prioritizing process related improvements and opportunities and building business cases to quantify cost/ benefit position
* Making key decisions related to business process management, including target setting, process performance, and financial management
* Driving major process redesign efforts and be accountable for implementation
* Managing effectively through times of crisis and ambiguity
Qualifications
* BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or General Management (CPA, or MBA preferred)
* Program and project management experience required
* Formal continuous improvement (e.g. LEAN / Six Sigma) and project management (e.g. PMP) certification/training desirable.
* Minimum 10 years of Finance and Accounting experience in a complex multinational organization, ideally related to management of Record-to-Report processes
* Understanding of GAAP and IFRS
* Experience leading and supporting cross functional business services with an emphasis on Finance and Accounting functions
* Experience with Shared Services and/ or Outsourced Service Delivery Models
* Demonstrated experience working in a matrixed global environment
* Demonstrable experience of executing process transformation initiatives or delivering enterprise systems
* In-depth understanding of Record-to-Report leading practices and experience with Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, and other accounting systems
* Experience with application and implementation of RPA and AI technologies within Record-to-Report process desirable
* Proven Leadership of teams and Record-to-Report process
* Ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization
* 25% average during normal circumstances
