RESUMEN GENERAL (SUMMARY):

Provide a variety of engineering work to fully support the manufacturing activities related to process and product activities, giving direct support on new product introduction, development, products and process changes , maintenance of validation program and promote continuous improvement of medical devices manufactured in Aibonito facilities. Responsible for diverse range of local and divisional project activities related to manufacturing process introduction, development and changes, maintaining the continuous improvements approach on assigned process areas to comply with establish Corporate standards and Quality Regulations.

TAREAS Y RESPONSABILIDADES (DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES):

Participate in multifunctional projects to contribute with plant manufacturing strategies.

Use standard and advance engineering principles to analyze and resolve process related issues.

Works under minimal supervision to identify manufacturing problems and respond to production requests for assistance.

Perform and assists in the implementation of new product introductions, existing product design modifications, manufacturing improvements giving direct support on change control process as change control owner and/or action owner on local or divisional projects. Perform and maintain process or product validation and re-validation programs using Local or Divisional engineering resources.

Manage technical resources to clearly set workload priorities in order to effectively support the validation processes on the manufacturing areas.

Conduct process or product transfer activities in coordination with Divisional or International facilities to the Aibonito manufacturing areas.

Lead and supervise small project teams as needed to accomplish project objectives.

Independently manage and perform multiple management and product engineering activities under Product Development Process guidelines.

Give direct support during Internal, External Quality Audit processes as (MDSAP, Corporate and FDA audits).

Perform as Technical Approver in Aibonito on areas of responsibilities.

Utilize and apply engineering problem solving techniques and Statistical tools as; (e.g., PFMEA, 5 Whys technique for investigations, Process Modeling, Design of Experiments, Mold Flow, SPC, etc).during investigation and/or during process improvement process

Implement Value Improvement Projects by analyzing specific processes and supporting the Aibonito plant VIP program.

Perform statistical and analytical analysis on process or product related conditions. Using Six-sigma engineering tools as Minitab Software Program.

Interact under minimal supervision with Divisional groups as well as other International facilities. Promote a zero-harm work place, and assure that required EHS resources are available and that all applicable EHS practices and rules are being followed by supervised employees.

Observe confidentiality and data privacy rules.

DEMANDA FISICA (PHYSICAL DEMANDS):

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.

EDUCACIN Y/O EXPERIENCIA (EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE):

Minimum Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Chemical Engineering. Three to Five (3-5) years related experience in manufacturing or project engineer in a closely related industry.

CUALIFICACIONES (QUALIFICATIONS):

Good project management and communication skills. Prefer experience with TQM methods (e.g. six sigma) Display a solid technical understanding of engineering principles and procedures (e.g. CAD and its application or scheduling a series of technical tasks utilizing software-based tools such as MS Project). Understand and articulate how own role ties within function or discipline. Demonstration application of engineering principles on individual/small projects. Uses computer applications to do process analysis. Excellent problem solving techniques. Excellent interpersonal skills. Six-sigma Engineering considered a plus. Knowledge of Design Control Requirements. Knowledge of GMP, FDA, OSHA, QLP. Some traveling required.
