Job Description
The Team Leader is responsible for assisting plant leadership with leading a high impact production team, and will have oversight of scheduling, distribution of tasks, resources and communication of production targets. The person in this role will provide leadership and direction that promotes safe work practices and improve quality and efficiency. You will work a B shift scheduled (4:00 pm-12:00 am).
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Activities and duties may vary, depending upon site-specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
* Serve as the primary lead and contact for shift in absence of team manager.
* Act as a team role model and change-agent.
* Positively lead and influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.
* Serves as indirect leader that primarily works on the production floor in assigned production position and assists team manager, as needed.
* Assist manager with production flow and daily staffing of equipment to meet monthly budgets.
* Communicate and supervise key operational metrics.
* Collaborate with other functional areas to resolve problems and develop improved manufacturing processes.
* Provides feedback to the team manager regarding the production team members performance.
* Coordinate the production activities of the production team and make scheduling adjustments to meet business needs.
* Promote and facilitate the personal development of team members by identifying and creating opportunities for training.
* Ensure that all employees are following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training instructions.
* Lead the efforts to identify the root cause and put preventative actions in place for quality-and safety- related issues.
* Work closely with other production team members and managers to provide consistent expectations and continuous improvement. ELS Projects/ AIM, FAIM.
* Support the 5S, housekeeping, ELS and recycling projects/ programs.
* Reduce manufacturing waste and process complexity
* Assign personnel responsibilities and ensure teamwork among everyone on the shift to improve efficiency and minimize downtime on production equipment.
* Ensure the accurate recording of production data across your shift on all equipment assets.
* Ensure collaboration between shifts (handoff, communication, etc.).
* Serve as subject matter expert in Oracle and other manufacturing systems as needed.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Have general knowledge and able to work with computers and programs (Google, email, documents, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, manufacturing systems).
* Willingness to act as an additional manufacturing resource by taking a hands-on approach to day-to-day production activities.
* Must regard safety as a core value must serve as a role model for other employees and encourage and adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures.
* Must be able to actively contribute in a team-based environment, encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal.
* Must have a strong service and quality focus, be able to address issues effectively when problems arise, and take initiative to understand root cause then communicate/educate team in a timely manner.
* Must have demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus.
* Must have a strong detail orientation and be able to follow written and oral instructions.
* Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs.
* Willingness to participate in additional training (On/off Site) as needed.
