The Opportunity

As an Insurance Resolutions Specialist, we help our customers while working in a close-knit team environment. Every call is an opportunity to use critical thinking skills to select the right next steps for our customers in order to ensure that their account is handled with dignity and efficiency. Strong customer service skills are a necessity as you will work with customers involved in unique life circumstances and hardships. You will be empowered to work directly with our customers and insurance companies; this will require critical thinking, problem solving, an ability to think creatively, and a high degree of empathy and compassion.

The Insurance Resolution Specialist will be working directly with customers who have suffered a total loss of their vehicle due to an accident or other event. You will assist them as they navigate through the insurance claims process, and will utilize your critical thinking that directly results in dollars lost or recovered for Ally.

The Work Itself

* Act as an intermediary between Ally's insurance loss vendor and the customer while collecting on unpaid balances
* Educate customers on the total loss process as well as the adverse effect of credit furnishing
* Conduct research to provide accurate documentation to insurance company
* Negotiate and work out payment arrangements while maintaining empathy
* Interact optimally with internal and external clients

The Skills You Bring

* HS diploma or equivalent required.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Ability to proactively collaborate with vendors and other Ally departments
* Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in business or related may be used as a proxy for the experience.
* Ability to work a high volume of accounts with a high degree of accuracy
* Must thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment
* Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills
* Professional phone etiquette
* Microsoft Windows and Internet-based applications experience required
* Ability to utilize 2 screen workstations as well as use several systems at a time
* Basic typing/data entry skills
* Strong customer service skills
