Finance brings together enterprise functions that drive Wells Fargo's financial management, including accounting and control, financial planning and analysis, line of business finance, asset-liability management, treasury, tax management, and the company's investment portfolios. They also inform shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, employees, and leaders of the company's financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines.
Corporate Investment Banking Financial Planning and Analysis
The CIB FP&A function is responsible for leading internal financial advisory, budgeting, forecasting and analysis that drive strategic decisions and business outcomes for the CIB line of business. This function reports to the Chief Financial Officer of Corporate Investment Banking with accountability to the Corporate Finance FP&A function.
Individual Responsibilities
Partner with Risk groups to develop metrics that aid CIB understand market, counterparty, operation, etc. RWA usage under current regulation, as well as new ones (FRTB, SACCR, SA/BA CVA)
Prioritize and perform LOB Deep Dives based on ROTCE results (returns on CET1); fully understanding market and counterparty and other modeled RWA consumption drivers
Perform new product analysis to asses returns impact
Perform BAU reporting to track and interpret trends between risk levels taken by the LOBs and capital consumption
Compile information into presentations
Communicate result of the research to the LOB clearly, concisely, highlighting proposed action to optimize CIBs returns
Required Qualifications
* 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: analytics, reporting, financial modeling, statistical modeling, finance, or accounting; or a BS/BA or higher in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics or Business and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: analytics, reporting, financial modeling, statistical modeling, finance, or accounting demonstrated through work or military experience
Desired Qualifications
* Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* A BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis
Other Desired Qualifications
* Understanding of model and data used to measure sales and trading results and risk levels.
* Some market risk experience
* Knowledge and understanding of traded derivative and cash products across all asset classes to effectively have discussions with Front Office, Market Risk, quantitative staff
* Solid understanding of balance sheet, income statement, returns, and cost of capital in a capital markets related function
* Good knowledge of Basel/US banking regulatory agencies capital rules related to capital markets/trading operations, and ability to self-guide reading and interpreting new rules
* Strong technical skills, and experience using Business Intelligence Tools, VBA, SQL
* Ability to perform and succeed in a fast pace environment
* Graduate degree in quantitative field
