General Responsibilities:
Operating and monitoring equipment to swage, straighten, anneal and draw various types of high-speed wire to several finished diameters as well as maintaining required records and operating material handling equipment.

Responsibilities:

* Operate rotary swaging machine to reduce end of coil for starting in die. Feed wire through straightening rolls and defect detector.
* Cut out weld section, remove drawn coil and start new coil on two take up drums according to established procedures. Transfer coil on rack to position for next draw.
* Monitor area of defect detector, mark defective areas indicated and polish area with hand held, air operated grinder with abrasive sleeve.
* Perform designated Total Preventative Maintenance as prescribed and enter required information on maintenance log.
* Use computer wand to transfer daily production data, including quantity, item, machine, process, other information from master sheet to computer.
* Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, Detect and report equipment malfunctions, defective materials, unusual situations or other problems to the supervisor. Follow all safety rules, regulations and practices and employ all safety devices and equipment.
* Observe and obey all safety rules, regulations and practices and employ all safety equipment and devices.
* Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed.

Climate:
Demanding, fast-paced position resulting from deadline pressures, simultaneous competing demands and changing priorities.

Requirements:

* Knowledge of charts, specifications, and micrometers
* 1-2 years experience preferred
* Use of numbers including decimals
* Light physical effort required, equivalent to lifting, pushing, pulling 5 to 25 pounds
* High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Hours: Mon-Fri 6:30pm - 5 am
