POSITION SUMMARY:
In this position you will have the opportunity to assist the Project Manager (PM) in coordinating, supervising, and inspection of administrative operations and activities for the GPC Hydro Modernization Program.
WORK LOCATION:
This position will be responsible for Admin functions at all three Georgia River systems: N. GA Hydro, Chattahoochee, and Central GA. The final work location will be determined with the successful candidate.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Effectively supporting the program through active communication/prioritization with multiple site PMs.
* Manage the invoicing, accrual process, and other administrative functions on the site.
* Ensure the financial reporting integrity of construction activities for the project.
* Manage the budget, schedule, and other metrics for the projects.
* Assist administrative and construction staff in tracking Extra Work, Contractor Correspondence, NCRs, FCRs, DCNs, etc.
* Assist in the development and dissemination of critical project statistical information (i.e. material quantities installed, budget analysis, etc.)
* Develop bid packages, conduct pre-bid meetings, and evaluate bids.
* Help ensure site compliance with Chapter XII and T&PS contract administration procedures to include all required documentation.
* Abide by all safety rules and help establish and maintain a safe work environment
* Plan and supervise, as applicable, project activities to ensure completion within schedule and budget requirements.
* Supervise the work of subordinates assigned to him/her.
* Manage all jobsite activities during times when the Project Manager is absent.
* Mentor, coach, and develop project team members.
* Perform miscellaneous assignments as directed by the Project Manager(s).

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
* Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, Building Science or Construction Management preferred
* Five (5) years plant, project, and/or construction management experience preferred
* Construction experience on large capital projects strongly preferred
* Experience managing field operations
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Thorough knowledge of OSHA and Southern Company safety rules and safe work procedures and applicable environmental regulations.
* Knowledge of construction standard practices, techniques, quality requirements, applicable codes and standards.
* Knowledge of construction contracts and labor agreements.
* Ability to interface with contractors, designers, vendors and other parties connected with the project.
* Ability to accurately appraise technical situations and recommend resolutions to problems.
* Interpersonal, communications and strong leadership skills.

TRAVEL:
* Frequent travel to plant sites and other locations as required (up to and exceeding 50% travel expected).
