Requisition Summary
Seeking energetic engineer with interest in integrating and testing fuel efficiency systems for an advanced demonstration vehicle that will help direct the course for PACCAR's product plans for the next 10-15 years. The scope of work includes working with styling, aerodynamics, cooling packaging, routings, and heat transfer engineers to complete part/system acquisition, assembly, and testing of a next-generation fuel efficiency demonstration truck.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
* Work in an engineering team as well as truck lab environment (e.g. personnel and tools) to complete installations and enhancements of the final prototype designs.
* Understand and analyze packaging, clearance, and strength considerations to conceptualize and develop robust prototype installations.
* Perform testing and subsequent part revisions to ensure safe operation in city and highway on-road evaluations
* Work with chassis, styling, aerodynamics, cooling, routing, and heat transfer engineers and suppliers to complete development, acquisition, and integration of an advanced fuel efficiency systems.
* Manage integration as a co-development with outer body and chassis; emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, weight impact, and service.

Qualifications and Skills
* Capable of modeling and manipulating complex systems in a 3D virtual environment (Creo preferred) with dynamic and thermal considerations; emphasis on weight control of a commercially viable final product
* Familiarity with use of CFD and FEA tools to refine designs
* Overall vehicle knowledge with electrical and mechanical skills (chassis, powertrain, cab/sleeper structure, interior)
* Demonstrated hands-on vehicle experience
* Self-directed and motivated with ability to use good judgment and effective decision making skills
* Willing to make use of engineering processes and techniques; resourceful in solving complex technical problems
* Ability to manage time and resources to meet program schedule and budget
* Competent with personal computer software such as word processing, databases, and spreadsheets
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
Education
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
* Commerical Drivers License desirable
