Job Description

Are you passionate about the cloud?

Do you like to build intuitive developer experiences leveraging tools, APIs, platforms, communities, and services which are used by developers around the world every day?

Do you have a passion for enabling developers to efficiently deliver high quality applications leveraging Microsoft's Azure cloud platform?

Do you love working with customers using multiple languages like Java, Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, C, C/C++, Go, and many more?

This is an opportunity for you to make a significant impact and help drive the bottom line of one of Microsoft's largest and fastest growing businesses.

The Azure SDK has grown to have hundreds of components that developers use to connect their applications and services to Azure. Whether you are using Storage, KeyVault, EventHubs, or Cognitive Services, these libraries and tools are used by developers worldwide to leverage Azure's vast array of features in their language of choice. The Azure SDK team is expanding with the purpose of streamlining the way all these components are architected and of creating a seamless, consistent, and idiomatic programmability experience for developers using the Azure platform. We are a tight-knit team of customer centric, energetic, data-driven product managers.

In this role, you will create a unified platform with consistent APIs; where diagnostics, logging, security, identity, and error handling are ubiquitous and consistent; where the SDKs are consistent with each other; and where the ecosystem of third party and open-source software that developers expect to use with Azure is enabled.

We are hiring a Senior Product Manager who can help drive these efforts. This position requires both a deep understanding of cloud customers and significant technical depth as we engage with many Azure service teams to deliver our platform together.

Your day-to-day work will require you to:

* Partner with your engineering counterparts to define and manage the end-to-end developer experience around SDKs for each Azure service.
* Establish a vision for how ease of programmability differentiates Azure from its competitors.
* Run user research, customer development, market research, and competitive analysis.
* Partner with Developer Advocates, Documentation, UX Research, and Azure service teams to deliver a delightful developer experience across the breadth of Azure.
* Drive programs that help to enforce developer experience guidelines across the Azure platform.
* Drive reviews that help the Azure executive team understand the challenges teams face in delivering great developer experiences in Azure.

If you are passionate about the developer ecosystem, open source, and the cloud, this is the role for you! Come join us as we make Azure features more accessible to developers through the SDKs and tools we deliver.

Basic Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience as a product manager or in developer relations
* 2+ years of experience with developer platforms, SDKs, or tools

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering
* Proven track record for defining a technical vision and leading it to demonstrable business results with the product
* The ideal person for this role would have breadth of context on what developers are trying to build with the cloud along with depth necessary to speak to the shortcomings of the developer experience across the major cloud service providers.
