Senior Silicon Verification Engineer

The Silicon Architecture and Verification team is seeking passionate, driven, and intellectually curious silicon verification engineer who can work with cross-discipline teams (systems, firmware, architecture, design, validation, product engineering, ...) to develop environment and test cases to verify hardware security designs. The ideal candidate is also passionate in developing systematic and efficient methods to detecting hardware/software vulnerabilities.

Our team is involved in numerous projects within Microsoft developing custom silicon for a diverse set of systems ranging from innovative high-performance consumer products to Azure cloud servers, clients, and IoT SOCs.

Creation of verification environments and tests, pre-silicon functional verification at the chip and system level, reference modeling and post-silicon validation.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS/MS in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering.

6+ years of relevant engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Track record of completion of SoC projects through full phases of SoC development cycle, starting from security architecture specification, design implementation, verification, post silicon validation, device provisioning, and RMA.

Microarchitecture and RTL industrial experience with silicon proof including owning and creating a crypto module from concept to completion.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a growth mindset.

Familiarity of NIST approved cryptographic. algorithms and NIST security standards.

Experience with FIPS and/or Common Criteria. certification pertaining to embedded crypto components.

Understanding application of finite field and modular arithmetic to cryptography.

Familiar with cryptography side-channel attacks and countermeasures.

Knowledgeable about processor HW security features.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
