Job Description

The Director of Inventory Management is responsible for developing and managing a multi-location Inventory Services team across four operational sites executing business strategic inventory management initiatives, navigates complex situations to develop solutions driving improvements through optimization of all inventory management processes including but not limited to capacity planning, client reporting and metrics.

Team outputs will be utilized by multiple functions within the organization including but not limited to revenue per pallet position, inventory turns, cash flow, reconciling returns and client contractual performance. The 3PL team operates in a fast-paced environment where every day brings new challenges and new opportunities. You will be responsible for recommending and implementing solutions and technologies which will handle the growing business needs. This role will play a key role in redefining what it means to be a best in class 3PL organization.

Key Responsibilities

* Drives cross-functionally collaboration and leadership to establish leading supply chain solutions that meet business objectives in terms of quality, profitability, service level , and business growth.

* Develops a strategy and vision for best in class inventory management and controls which including setting and managing service metrics, key performance indicators, quality metrics, and financial metrics

* Establishes an end to end view of best in class supply and demand inventory optimization across all clients in order to optimize capacity as well as inventory turnover

* Accountable to the financial reconciliation of all inventory types by client and ensures P&L impact is in accordance with division targets

Typical Minimum Requirements

* 12+ years of inventory management experience with proven record of effective demand planning, distribution, logistics and transportation

* 4+ years of people management experience

* Bachelors degree required

Critical Skills

* Must have experience leading and driving best-in-class inventory planning processes

* Strong quantitative analytical skills, business acumen and insight with the ability to understand and synthesize data from various sources and form impactful judgments and insights

* Working knowledge of forecasting & modeling techniques and demand planning applications including demonstrated proficiency with financial modeling concepts

* Must be able to drive inventory optimization and solve inventory related issues

* Develop and track KPIs/Daily Management performance and create management reports to identify new insights on performance and future opportunities

* Exceptional communication, influencing and leadership skills in order to directly influence and lead cross-functional teams

Additional Skills

* Import & Export industry experience is preferred

* Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in outputs

* Excellent problem-solving, trouble-shooting, and project management skills/capabilities

* Proficient in SAP or other ERP system

* Solid presentation and written communication skills

* Occasional travel (up to 20%)
