General Purpose of Job

As the Underwriting Assistant, you will be working within a metrics driven environment in which you are responsible for processing Renewals, U100 lives . This position requires strategic and innovative thinking skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast paced environment that requires strong attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Develops an understanding of basic risk factors for application in daily work.
* Manipulates census data, and runs manual ratings for inforce customers on the U100 business.
* Reviews and interprets competitor policies, manipulates census data, and runs manual ratings on prospective customers to support large case new business.
* Provides timely and high-quality work to Underwriters, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
* Applies time management skills to prioritize deadlines appropriately.
* Builds strong relationships and partners with Underwriters.
* Works well independently but also has strong skills working in a team environment.
* Communicates effectively with internal/external stakeholders while maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions.
* Participates in various ongoing projects allowing insight into other areas of the organization.
* Supports and promotes change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
* Meets or exceeds departmental quality standards.
* Applies knowledge obtained from the role in increasingly more complex situations and continues to acquire more knowledge to apply in role.

Education

* High School or GED - Minimum Required

Experience

* 0 - 1+ Years of Customer Service experience that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required )
