Job Summary

The Cybersecurity System and Services team/End User Technology team provides innovative, modern and secure products and services that maximize the productivity of Liberty Mutual Employees and our Customers. We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to help us deliver directory services and endpoint security products that provide access to employees, customers, corporate applications anytime, anywhere. This role will lead two agile teams while also contributing to department-wide Agile maturity efforts and goals. The ideal candidate is passionate about Agile and continuous improvement, invigorated by challenges and relentless focused on our customers!

About the job

* Effective facilitation skills at the team and dept level; Remains neutral, applies conflict management & establishes trust.
* Is comfortable having difficult conversations and actively coaching other leaders, peer roles and individual contributors on continual improvement, growth mindset and maturing current Agile adoption.
* Takes an active role in the transition to & implementation of end to end customer experience approaches with guidance from more experienced SMs and Agile Coaches.
* Possesses advanced understanding of Lean-Agile metrics (health, value, flow and quality) to help teams continually improve. Assesses the Agile/Scrum maturity of the team & coaches the team to higher levels of maturity. Coaches team & managers on the Agile mindset/behavior.
* Deep understanding of the mechanics of the Agile framework or method and the ability to teach the specific roles, work products, and activities to team members and stakeholders. Increases team knowledge of Agile/Lean topics helping them understand why practices work not just how.
* Observes & provides consistent, impactful feedback for team Agile development.
* Understands the impact and supports the vision for change within their organization.
* Develops a network of change agents to promote change and manage resistance to change.
* Mentors less experienced Scrum Masters and other Lean-Agile leaders.
* Actively seeks coaching & mentoring from more experienced SMs & coaches on Lean-Agile techniques and mindset and guides them on their personal change and growth journey.
* Stays current with Agility industry trends & explores other perspectives by reading & contributing to blogs, consuming external media, & actively participating in internal/external Scrum/Agile events.
* Acts as a catalyst to the SM community & in the organization by sharing ideas, contributing to SBU and corporate Agile efforts.
* Tracks and presents Agile metrics on workflow, transformation, maturity and culture on a sprint by sprint basis.
* Uses a pragmatic approach to guide multiple teams by seeking to understand what they want to achieve and helping them become more effective in an Agile context.
* Comfortable experimenting with a variety of approaches based on need & fit. Promotes the use of/experimentation with quality/engineering practices.
* Coordinates Quarterly Planning 'big room' increments through logistics and agenda preparation.
Qualifications:
Qualifications

* Experience successfully implementing both Scrum and Kanban/Scrumban methodologies
* Experience driving agile maturity in environments responsible for solutions engineering, systems/infrastructure administration and operations, in addition to software engineering.
* Experience with Lean and driving use of KPIs and metrics across varied implementations required. Track record of continued and recent education in Lean-Agile including training, conferences, user groups, cohorts, self-study, etc.
* Knowledge/training equivalent to advanced/2nd level certifications from a reputable Lean-Agile organization a plus but not required (PSM II, ICAgile Professional Agile Team Facilitation (ICP-ATF), ICAgile Professional Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC)).
* Scrum certification strongly preferred.
* Thorough knowledge of technical, digital, cloud and infrastructure required.
* Experience with product management/prioritization coaching a plus.
* Experience with user experience and/or design thinking techniques a plus.
* Experience working in a scaled agile framework preferred, but not required.
* Bachelors degree in a relevant field (business, computer science, humanities, etc.) and at least 5 years related experience.
* Knowledge of insurance and business functions and operations, strategies and objectives.
