Human Resources Specialist
Roscommon, MI
Summary: Lear Corporation is looking for a dynamic Human Resources leader to join our expanding team in Roscommon, MI. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years working in a unionized manufacturing setting and have experience supporting environmental, health & safety initiatives.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
* Coordinate a variety of HR generalist functions including employee and labor relations, staffing and recruiting, employee engagement, and training and development.
* Assist teams and trainers in identifying any needed resources and help to make them available to the team.
* Assist in the grievance administration process.
* Oversight of two department of labor approved apprenticeship programs.
* Oversees benefits and consultants with insurance companies re: policy interpretation, etc.
* Prepares confidential correspondence and reports.
* Knows and follows all safety, ISO14001/TS16949 policies and procedures. Designs and formalizes local policies as needed.
* Performs other duties required in pursuance of the function of this position or as directed.
* Maintain Workers Compensation Costs and work with 3rd party administrators, nurse case managers and network providers to manage work comp claims/injuries.
* Assist employees when accidents occur, or when medical treatment or emergency response is necessary.
* Promote team and safety concepts throughout the facility and organization.
* Assess risk in the operation and make process improvements to reduce risk.
* Coordinate and manage employee certification process to ensure that training needs are met.
* Assist in accident investigation and improvement to safety related issues.
* Oversee and support the plant Safety Committee.
REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
* 3+ years working in a manufacturing setting as a Human Resources Generalist.
* Experience supporting Health and Safety in a manufacturing setting.
* Computer literacy and the ability to adapt to impacts of changing legislation and work environment
* Good communication and organizational
