Capital Markets and Securities Operations (CMSO) partners with various groups across U.S. Private Bank and JPM Wealth Management, including Trading, Transfers, Supervisory Management, Compliance, and Business Leaders. The team coordinates information, business requirements and infrastructure necessary to provide transparent, scalable, and seamless solutions to clients and business partners across the of dynamically managed portfolios.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a senior Project Manager within Investments Middle Office, you will support our Investment Solutions Trading and Transfers business and Middle Office teams by leading projects and providing support for various initiatives. The candidate may be involved in multiple projects or initiatives, working across the whole project lifecycle, researching new projects, business process changes, or system modifications. Through strong partnership with Business, Operations and Technology counterparts the candidate will work on project deliverables that are aligned with business and technology strategies.
The individual will be working in a dynamic team environment where they will need to be extremely flexible in tackling new projects and issues as they arise, some that can be time-sensitive requiring the person to prioritize things efficiently. This person needs to be able to effectively run meetings across varying audiences and manage deliverables and deadlines as appropriate. The project manager must adhere to established policies, procedures and legal requirements, communicating sensitive issues to senior stakeholders and management.
Responsibilities
This role will require an ability to deal with complex business challenges, tight deadlines, competing priorities and interaction with the management team
* Coordinate with various areas of Operations, Middle Office, Finance, Technology, and Senior Management to develop and implement solutions that strengthen business operating models, enhance the client experience, and improve efficiency and controls
* Present business cases, recommendations, business/client impacts, mitigate risks and resolve issues, and obtain consensus for implementation
* Identify weaknesses, gaps, and opportunities for process, organizational, and technology improvements and participate in driving resolution of mitigating controls
* Work with business partners to design and implement enhancements to existing processes and/or business applications, introduce new processes and/or toolsets, and engage in process re-engineering
* With guidance, develop and implement solutions that strengthen business operating models, enhance the client experience, and improve efficiency and controls
* Facilitate and moderate project meetings and provide reporting/metrics as required
* Provide implementation support, inclusive of test planning and process change management, and ensure those implementations meet requirements established by Oversight and Control partners
* Build strong partnerships with control partners, within the WM Business Management organization, and across Investment Solutions Trading and Transfers Business teams
* Work independently, keep management informed of progress and escalate issues
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required
* 5 - 10 years project management/business analyst experience
* Excellent communication and presentations skills, across various stakeholders and senior management
* Intermediate/Advanced experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Visio, Project and PowerPoint
* Highly disciplined, self-motivated and delivery-focused individual who is able to work independently and make sound decisions in the absence of detailed instructions
* Ability to reduce complex problems into component parts and find innovative solutions to a wide variety of compliance, legal, technological, and behavioral constraints.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think on their feet and be able to apply critical thinking and logical/structured framework to situations such as business case development and issue resolution
* Experience in the testing lifecycle management, inclusive of test plan definition and preparation of information to senior management to enable sign-off on a deliverable
* Financial Industry Experience is a plus, preferably Private Banking, Investment Management, or Brokerage/IB
* Strong time management skills, ability to work in a high paced environment, manage complexity, multi-task, prioritize work and effectively contribute to a dynamic team environment
* Be a team player who shows commitment and dedication, adept at navigating a fluid and dynamic environment and can maintain a positive attitude and high level of performance on high profile/time-sensitive initiatives
