As a Graduate Research Intern in the Datacenter Platform Group, you will be contributing to the design development and implementation of the latest cloud technologies, that drive easy and efficient deployment of services based on real world use cases. Specifically you will be working on microservices and cluster level characterization and optimization of complex workloads, leading to development of cluster intelligence that requires application of machine learning and AI.

During the Internship, you will get the opportunity to work on the latest technologies, and experience of working closely with experienced architects, solving the latest challenges in the world of cloud computing. You will be joining a team that develops and analyzes complex end to end use cases, including machine learning, video analytics natural language processing using deployment models like microservices, IaaS, PaaS and FaaS on public and private cloud infrastructures.

The internship involves developing novel optimization techniques to cluster level job scheduling in a cloud native environment, making use of existing hardware features and exploring new opportunities for hardware and software enhancements. The objective is to optimize combinations of workloads for overall performance performance variability power or other parameters. The candidate will work with the team to develop and deploy solutions in a data center to demonstrate the benefit of various optimizations.

The position may include planning projects or tasks and tracking progress of your tasks or related tasks with occasional status updates or presentations. In this position, the candidate will gain invaluable experience which will allow growth and expanded opportunities within this business group, as well as future possible opportunities with other business groups within Intel.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

* Performing research in the area of Cluster Orchestration for Microservices

* Characterize inefficiencies in the current deployments that contributes to tail latencies

* Identify potential software-hardware architecture optimization opportunities

* Build experimental prototypes to demonstrate algorithm efficacies of different approaches

* Build PoCs to demonstrate effectiveness of the Cluster Orchestration solutions

Qualifications

Successful candidate must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates Relevant experience can be obtained through school work classes and project work internships and or work experience.

Minimum Requirements:
The candidate must be currently enrolled in Masters degree program in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or related fields with exposure to cloud computing microservices Intelligent Orchestration MLDL Algorithms.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the following areas
