The newly established Pre/Post-Trade API Engineering team is looking for a technical architect who we will at the forefront of shaping our Pre/Post-Trade API strategy. In this role, you will collaborate with our external clients, business partners and other engineering teams across the firm; interface with senior stakeholders; design, communicate and get consensus on the architecture required for the strategic solution. We will together explore the transformation of the pre/post trade landscape in financial industry which is experiencing a significant shift in the industry itself with emerging technology like Blockchain; innovative solutions provided by FinTech companies; as well as investment from other industry incumbents. Who We Are
Global Markets Operations organization is at the center of global financial markets and serves our institutional clients. It handles all the asset classes Goldman Sachs transacts across a broad range of pre/post trade capabilities including Client Onboarding, Clearing, Settlement, Margin, Asset Servicing, Ledger etc. This Engineering team is responsible for establishing and implementing the API strategy to expose these capabilities; serving as the center of excellence of API development for Global Markets Operation Engineering and help accelerate the delivery of APIs. The team will work in partnership with the Marquee Engineering team, Operation Engineering teams and Core Engineering team.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the owners of various Pre/Post-Trade systems and Operation partners to design the APIs for internal/external client to integrate with
* Design and build platform components for Pre/Post-Trade APIs along with senior technical architect
* Apply analytical and problem solving skills and utilize software development best practices with a commitment to quality
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
* Bachelors degree or relevant work experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
* Excellent object oriented or functional analysis and design skills.
* Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Comfortable multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders and working as part of a global team.
* Can apply an entrepreneurial approach and passion to problem solving and product development.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience API design and RESTful service development
* Scripting languages & shell scripting
* Hands-on experience of test driven development
* Automated testing & tools (JUnit, JMeter, Cucumber, etc.)
* Continuous builds & associated tooling (Maven, Gradle)
* Experience with BPMN modeling and Workflow solutions
* Experience with ORM tools like Hibernate, MyBatis
* Experience with Automation Testing tools like Selenium, Cucumber, DB Unit
* Experience with Cloud integration
* Exposure to Financial products and understanding of trade flow
* Experience with Agile software delivery methodology
