Job Description

The Siemens Mobility, Inc. GA400 factory is looking for an entry-level expeditor/buyer to ensure the purchase of goods, materials, and commodities will meet the production schedule needs by considering the price, quality, delivery lead times, and ensuring continuity of supply. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to progress through the Supply Chain group and show leadership qualities and potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage resources and activities required to complete purchasing transactions, including sourcing and expediting purchase orders to support production schedules' fulfillment.

Act as a point of contact between the production planner and supplier to manage transactions and parts flow.

Process purchase orders based on supply/demand requirements in the SAP ERP system.

Maintain purchase orders with supplier confirmation dates.

Manage short cycle demands, customer emergencies, expedite past-due, urgent requests.

Facilitate inventory management by acting on cancellation requests, supporting other inventory programs.

Evaluate and drive resolution on material quality, price, supply issues, delivery, and invoice discrepancies.

Propose and implement job-related process improvements, participate in cross-functional projects.

Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact factory operations.

Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization.

Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.

Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken with all supplier relationships.

Skills and Attributes:

Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers.

Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills.

Analytical with strong demonstrated problem-solving abilities.

Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and achieve set targets.

Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how positive and negative influences affect production.

Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications and Experience Level:

BS/BA degree in a related discipline OR an HS Diploma with 1-2 years relevant experience in Production or Supply Chain Logistics.

Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, and pricing structures.

Experience in working closely with suppliers.

Experience with SAP ERP system (preferred).

Knowledge of computer software applications (MS Office, MS Outlook) and hardware.
