Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector Communications seeks Employee, Functional amp; Leadership Communications Director to join its team in our Linthicum, Md. or McLean, Va. office.

Reporting to the Vice President of Communications, the Director of Employee, Functional and Leadership Communications will be responsible for defining and implementing an internal communications strategy and framework to drive Mission Systems sector and overall company business objectives.

This role will oversee and help support domestic and global communications programs, editorial calendar and publications, integrated communications campaigns, brand strategy communications for functional leaders and change management initiatives across the sector.

The selected candidate will lead key communications initiatives to promote and publicize Northrop Grumman rsquo;s values, culture, people, products, performance, brand and reputation among employees, and recruit new employees to our company.

As the primary Communications advisor partnering with Human Resources, Strategy, Operations and other functional organizations, we are seeking someone who innovative, collaborative and motivating to increase employee engagement and retention and help drive business objectives forward.

The desired candidate is a strong and engaging leader and influencer with high values, integrity and ethics. S/He is a strategic thinker and hands-on individual who can take projects from concept to implementation, and has a proven track record of simultaneously managing and delivering multiple, evolving communications projects.

Responsibilities

* Serves as the primary liaison with Corporate Communications team
* Set or lead an integrated communications plan for internal sector initiatives and develop internal communications campaigns to support business imperatives, strategic priorities and to drive a common culture.
* Oversee Talent Acquisition initiatives to draw potential new employees to our company through recruiting channels.
* Sets the strategic and tactical plan for communicating key sector initiatives to employees, communicating through crisis and change.
* Builds brand ambassadors by sharing Northrop Grumman 39;s leadership through the sector 39;s accomplishments, thought leadership, capabilities, and operational performance.
* Delivers captivating, relevant information to employees using a multi-channel approach, including emerging and non-traditional communications avenues and outlets.
* Leads internal communications team that supports the overall business strategy and functional leadership team, enhances company culture and protects the brand and reputation.
* Oversee internal communications budget, ensuring that overall budgets, schedules and performance standards are met.
* Work collaboratively with the Vice President of Communications to provide strategic counsel, support and execution for communicating with and across key stakeholder groups, including senior leaders, internal client groups, and employees at functional and enterprise levels. Duties include speechwriting, development of messaging platforms, employee engagement, diversity, equity and inclusion campaigns, etc.
* Develop editorial calendar and manage employee communications vehicles, including publications, intranet, webcasts and employee events.
* Lead interface with corporate global communications directors, Corporate Global Business Development Office representatives, Country Executives to ensure an integrated and consistent communications program.
* Partners with peer directors on the communications strategy and associated integrated communications plans to communicate key recurring and non-recurring initiatives for employees.
* Conducts regular audits of employee communication plan execution by internal and external partners and provides feedback and direction to ensure strategies are effectively and coherently delivered through-the-line in all sector communications.
* Leads and mentors team small team.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor rsquo;s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field
* At least 10 years of broad corporate communications experience supporting internal communications programs, with direct experience communicating internal cultural change and evolution
* Track record of leadership success with substantial change communications projects, in addition to executive-level written and verbal communications skills
* Extensive knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
* Demonstrated experience developing successful and innovative communications programs to support organizations undergoing change or transformation with proven business results
* Proven results managing organizational change from the executive level of organization down to frontline employees
* Sound decision-making, especially in ambiguity, with a bias toward action
* Strong relationship building skills; proven track record of building collaborative partnerships as the basis for being able to influence direction and drive change at every level of organization
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance is required
* Occasional travel required
