Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking two Engineering Managers (S03) to lead the engineering processes and tools in the Strategic Deterrence Systems Division. These leadership roles will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force rsquo;s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

The two positions are:
1) Aerospace Vehicle Products
2) Command, Control and Communication System Products

Roles and Responsibilities:
bull; Lead and direct an experienced and technically diverse engineering team responsible for planning, organizing and developing engineering processes specific to the particular discipline and/or portfolio of products
bull; Establish the processes that govern system development and sustainment and participate in the enforcement of processes
bull; Support coordination with industry and academia
bull; Emphasize process development using modern model-based methods and practices in support of a full digital engineering transformation
bull; Manage engineering tools and applications for the particular discipline and products and develop the necessary engineering support team to sustain and evolve capabilities
bull; Provide technical review authority, process audit and process enforcement across all program activities to ensure engineering integrity
bull; Utilize analytical problem solving skills and strategic thinking abilities to resolve business issues
bull; Collaborate with Engineering Directors, Program Office, Project Engineering, Business Management, and Division Leadership
bull; Mentor junior staff
bull; Support planning, budgeting staff forecasting for contract direct and indirect budgets supporting process development

We are seeking qualified candidates with the following background:
bull; Expert in one or more engineering disciplines with proven technical accomplishment and experience
bull; Experienced leader in large complex program development in the DoD environment
bull; Understands the interactions among the various engineering disciplines, roles and responsibilities
bull; Detail and team oriented with demonstrated leadership and organization skills
bull; Skilled at solving unique problems and making sound engineering decisions
bull; Demonstrated sense of urgency, ownership of tasks and accountability
bull; Strong written and verbal communications skills

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:
bull; Bachelors of Science degree in engineering or related scientific fields
bull; 8 years of experience in engineering on complex programs
bull; Minimum 3 years of technical formal lead/management experience
bull; Knowledgeable of model-based engineering methods and tools
bull; Process minded with ability to develop written procedures
bull; Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
bull; Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (clearance not required to start)

Preferred Qualifications:
bull; Project management experience
bull; DoD Secret clearance with ability to achieve Top Secret Clearance
bull; Masters rsquo; degree in Engineering or related scientific fields
bull; Technical Leadership experience
