The selected Manager will be a central POC for interns and early-career staff in the Mission Systems Engineering organization that support the National Security Space (NSS) and Space Security (SPS) business units within the Tactical Space Systems Division. Responsible for managing early-career technical personnel assigned to a department (approximate staff size of 25), as well as ensuring appropriate training and support to these team members. Includes all aspects of staff management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching/mentoring, career development, program assignment, performance management, compensation management, and separation. The manager will also co-own the planning and development program for system engineering interns that support NSS and SPS programs.

In addition, the candidate will be have a role as a Systems Engineer or Technical Leader on an NSS program ndash; the split between direct (programs) and indirect is approximately 80/20. Regarding the program role, the candidate will be responsible for technical requirements and execution of engineering efforts, proposal development, design and development, design reviews, technical documentation, program implementation, launch and mission operations as applicable.

The candidate will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk management, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

Strong experience in Systems Engineering for space and/or ground mission critical applications.

Bachelors of Science Degree in STEM Science Technology Engineering or Math and 9+ years of experience, or Masters of Science Degree and 7+ years of experience.

Must have U.S.Citizenship with current or active Top Secret/SSBI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Technical Degree.

U.S. Citizenship with current or active Top Secret/SCI clearance
