Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Strategic Force Programs is looking for a Staff Systems Engineer (Level 5) with significant background in EO/IR and/or microwave phenomenology modeling with an emphasis in sensor modeling. The candidate will be working out of our Azusa, CA location.

The candidate will join the System Analysis functional organization group and serve as the thread modeling subject matter expert (SME). The candidate will not only provide technical expertise in the exploitation of EO/IR and/or microwave phenomenology for the detection of various threats, but will also provide expertise in building a modeling capability to model these threats. Candidate will provide technical expertise for the initiative to build an end-to-end, i.e atmospheric and threat modeling to threat detection algorithms, digital simulation facility. In particular, the candidate should have a strong background in sensor modeling to build up the capability to model any number of sensor forms within this end-to-end threat modeling capability. Candidate should have good familiarity with current space and ground based surveillance systems.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

middot; Bachelor rsquo;s Degree in a STEM field amp; 14 years of Mission Phenomenology and Simulation experience, OR a Master rsquo;s Degree in a STEM field amp; 12 years of mission phenomenology and simulation experience, OR a PhD in a STEM field amp; 9 years of mission phenomenology and simulation experience

middot; Strong background in atmospheric phenomenology and sensor modeling

middot; Subject matter expert in either EO/IR or microwave phenomenology, with specific application to mission threat detection

middot; Deep understanding on building and understanding mission Concepts of operations (CONOPS) for mission threat detection applications

middot; Experience in space and ground based surveillance architectures

middot; Strong Experience in using Matlab and/or Python to do analysis

middot; Active amp; current DoD Secret Clearance must be held and maintained

Preferred Qualifications:

middot; Master rsquo;s or PhD in Remote Sensing

middot; Subject Matter expert in both EO/IR and microwave phenomenology

middot; Significant experience in working with DoD technical SMEs

middot; Experience with focal plane technologies

middot; Active TS/SCI Clearance
