Sets up and operates machine tools such as (compression molding presses, blenders, ovens, routing machines etc). Must be able to read and follow work instructions.
Responsibilities:
* Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, tooling instructions, fixtures, and equipment settings.
* Selects, positions, and secures tool in tool holder
* Moves controls to position press and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and pressures.
* Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of work piece to specifications.

Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Mental/Visual/Physical Effort: Walks, stands, reaches, and bends frequently. Periodic lifting of moderate to heavy items may be required. Possesses good hand/eye coordination.
Physical Hazards: Minimal exposure to severe accidents. Normal operations require eye protection. Additional safety equipment may be required.
Material Hazards: Illness or injury from materials present in normal working environment is unlikely.
Working Conditions: Exposure to normal machine shop environment with periodic noise. Limited disagreeable factors present. Certain environments may fall under the sites respiratory protection program where they would be required to pass a medical evaluation and undergo a respirator fit test.
