Job Role and Responsibilities:

VMware is seeking an Associate, M&A; Integration to join its Integration Management Office (IMO) team. The position offers the opportunity to join a team addressing key strategic areas of growth for VMware via inorganic growth. The IMO team is a small, core group of professionals who drive the pre-merger integration planning and post-merger integration execution for all company M&A; activity both acquisitions and divestitures. As a key member of this team, the Associate, M&A; Integration will report to the Director, IMO, and support the team in M&A; projects.

* Participate in various phases of the acquisition life cycle to understand the strategic objectives, help develop integration success criteria, identify synergies, and create key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve deal value capture and creation

* Partner with senior integration leads to develop and manage the detailed integration plans and budget for each acquisition according to the strategic objectives of the project

* Monitor integration status and resolve issues throughout the integration process. Report on progress to key stakeholders, through succinct verbal and written communications

* Develop and contribute to M&A; best practices for the company through continual process improvement and industry research

* Partner with other cross-functional project teams of various sizes based on company needs

* Provide workload balance support to other M&A; projects as needed



Required Skills:

* Graduating Master Student 2021

* 3-4 years of relevant work experience.

* Exceptional attention to detail, project management skills, and a desire to roll-up your sleeves to see an integration project to successful completion

* Strong interpersonal skills, incl. good communication with the ability to articulate ideas in a precise and concise manner.

* Desire to learn, understand, and improve key business processes (Go to Market, Quote to Cash, Employee On-boarding, etc.), as well as technology platforms (Network Infrastructure, Cloud Hosting, Identity Management, Collaboration Tools, etc.)

* Capacity to rapidly identify cross-functional issues pertaining to an acquisition, communicate those issues immediately and work to resolution

Preferred Skills:

* Strong experience with Microsoft tools, Smartsheets, and other collaboration tools.

* Comfort with executive-level management interaction
