The Opportunity:

The Supplier Diversity & Sustainability Senior Director position will be a direct report into the SVP and Chief Procurement Officer. This position will help realize one of Cigna's corporate objectives: Cignas supplier base reflects our customer base and the communities we serve and live in. He/she/they will accomplish this by identifying business opportunities for diverse and small enterprises, and by developing and managing programs that ensure goods are purchased, services are delivered and utilities are consumed in ways that benefit our company, our society and the greater economy.

As part of our 2020 Building Equity and Equality Program, Cigna established a goal to achieve $1 billion in diverse supplier funding by 2025. This goal will require Cigna to double its diversity spending in five years.

In order to achieve this goal we need a senior leader who has the dedication and focus to influence, advocate, and execute on this vision with Executive and Senior Leadership (ELT/SLT) and other business stakeholders.

This individual will lead an organization responsible for GPTPM strategic initiatives that:

* Build and execute an enterprise strategy and vision to achieve $1B in diverse spend by 2025.
* Establish and deliver on diversity spend goals with actionable insights and strategies.
* Partner with Sales to incorporate an actionable diverse supplier strategy within their Localization efforts.
* Expand Cignas Mentor Protg Program, which is committed to developing and growing management capabilities and skills within our diverse suppliers so as to enhance their ability to compete for Cigna's and other companies business.
* Oversee critical sustainable procurement efforts. This position will develop key initiatives, build actionable insights and establish internal and external relationships that lead highly innovative and targeted sustainability advocacy strategies.
* Engage with the ELT/SLT and other business leaders to identify short, medium, and long-term critical metrics that measure our progress in achieving our diversity and sustainability objectives.
* Construct with GPTPM peers the management programs that will advance these relationships with our business segments and lead to successful long-term minority supplier relationships that grow with Cigna.

This person will execute key communications, nimble training and other knowledge transfer associated with the key pillars outlined above.

The candidate will demonstrate a strategic mindset and cultivate innovation in close partnership with our GPTPM leaders, business matrix stakeholders and IT. He/she/they will explore opportunities to continuously develop our talent and improve our diversity and community supplier engagement processes to deliver strong results.

Key Responsibilities:

* Responsible for holistic understanding of GPTPM strategies that require support from key ELT/SLT leaders, internal matrix partners, and external suppliers
* Work closely with the GPTPM leadership to understand and deliver on prioritized activities and goals
* Own strategic deliverables for initiatives/projects including strategic roadmaps, objectives and opportunity analysis, where applicable
* Develop and lead highly innovative and targeted sustainability advocacy strategies and positions that engage business stakeholders, key third party suppliers and GPTPM professionals with short, medium, and long-term critical metrics that deliver measurable change
* Establish and drive the key partnerships and industry coalitions required to deliver the enterprise-wide advocacy agenda for both Supplier Diversity and Sustainability
* Identify, cultivate and maintain relationships with industry specialists, advocacy groups, government and non-governmental organizations and academics that deliver both business and social value
* Collaborate with cross functional matrix partners, operations, change management and analytics teams to ensure effective tool adoption, usage, and reporting strategies for related areas of responsibility
* Ensure effective communication with key stakeholders and internal management
* Effectively manage teams to deliver on results

Preferred Location: Bloomfield, CT; St. Louis, MO; Philadelphia , PA

Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree required, post graduate degree or professional certifications (preferred)
* 10-15 years of experience in Supplier Diversity with Sustainability and healthcare industry (preferred)
* Excellent oral, written presentation and communication skills
* Strong executive presence
