What Software Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health
Manages the Infrastructure Discovery and Application/Service Mapping lifecycles along with their associated technologies. Is the subject matter expert (SME) for infrastructure discovery and application service mapping. Works closely with other technology SMEs to build and maintain accurate application service maps. Designs, develops, and implements patterns, to achieve a complete and accurate discovery of infrastructure components and application services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on the ServiceNow CMDB
* Promote ServiceNow and CMDB best practices and recommend out of the box solutions where appropriate.
* Delivery of a single source of truth for all configuration items (e.g. applications, servers, databases, etc and their relationships)
* Ensure CMDB governance policies and best practices are followed.
* Management and improvement of auto-discovery processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with ServiceNow-recommendations for CMDB and discovery configuration
* Drive process standardization and automation throughout all areas
* Strong collaboration with stakeholders including internal customers, stakeholders and vendors to understand challenges and gain consensus on improved system and operational solutions
* Regular review of current data model, processes, procedures and tools
* Proactive identification of data and functionality gaps in ServiceNow CMDB and auto-discovery
* Maintain reconciliation roles
* Responsible for the health, data integrity and overall relationships for the ServiceNow CMDB.
* Participates in platform upgrade planning, testing, and validation.
* May participate in projects including preparing project plans, assigning tasks, monitoring statuses, coordinating efforts, validating team recommendations, integrating efforts into a comprehensive strategy and delivering results on time.
* Writes and/or reviews system specifications, including output requirements, flow charts and technical diagrams.
Experience
* Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)/GCP, including leveraging EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, and Cloud formation services in an enterprise production environment
* Experience with any discovery tools is plus.
* Knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, LDAP, Single-Sign-on, authentication, user and group policy objects, and permission levels
* Knowledge of UNIX or Linux Server administration, including user permission levels.
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience
* 10+ years of hands-on experience in developing enterprise software and solutions
* Minimum of 3-year experience with ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping
* Minimum of 5+ years working on a team as part of a large IT organization
* Minimum of 2-year experience with Service Watch
* Minimum of 5 years' experience with Configuration Management, ITIL v3 certification a plus
* Experience with integration components such as SSO, LDAP
* Experience with web technologies such as AJAX, XML, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services (SOAP, REST)
* Experience with databases and data-driven web applications
* Experienced in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes including client requirement analysis and system design, and/or software engineering principles
* Understanding of Incident Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, and Release Management as it relates to ITIL
* Experience with Run book automation and data integration
* Experience with a scripting language, such as PowerShell, Perl or Python
Desired Skills
* ITIL v3 Foundation certification
* Experience implementing systems using Agile methodology.
* Service-now Developer Certification
* ServiceNow Administration certification a plus
* ServiceNow Discovery certification a plus
