Amgens 10-12-week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patients lives. The internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing competitive compensation.
The summer intern will join the Advanced Technology and Automation group in the Process Development organization. Our team's mandate is to identify, design, develop, and implement novel manufacturing technologies into Amgens worldwide manufacturing network. Our role is crucial for the success of Amgen Operations in its goal to ensure supply to our patients while driving a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and transformation. The internship project will focus on advancing artificial intelligence within our biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes. The intern will virtually join our team of scientists, engineers, and data scientists working on deep learning for machine vision applications.
A successful internship will comprise the student liaising with our Operations partners to understand the machine vision challenges we face in our manufacturing processes and collaborating with teammates to demonstrate cutting-edge technological improvements. The internship will provide opportunities to learn the Amgen manufacturing and business processes, and the intern will gain experience in data science, coding, big data, deep learning, and machine vision with support from our team of subject matter experts. The program will conclude with a presentation of the interns results to the department.
Basic qualifications:
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelors Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
Enrolled in a full time Bachelors degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred qualifications:
Interest(s) in biotechnology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, process development, data science, artificial intelligence (deep learning, machine learning), machine vision, and/or coding
Completed two academic years of undergraduate study by the start of the internship
